Self awareness is the recognition of your personality, your strengths, your weakness, your likes and dislikes. Developing self-awareness can help you to recognize who you are and to assess your abilities.

Why do you need to know yourself?
¨ Self awareness is a requirement for effective leadership, as well as communicating and relating with other people.

¨     Having clarity about who you are and what you want and why you want it, allows you to consciously and actively make wants a reality.

¨The outer self is concerned with what others people think about us
¨It is always looking over our shoulders at what other are doing and comparing ourselves to others.
¨The outer self is the mask we wear to cover up the fact that we have lost touch with our true self.

THE INNER SELF

¨The inner self is the person that no one ever sees, your true self.
¨The inner self consists of the true feelings, desires, dislikes that you mask from world in order to be accepted and/ or admired by wider society.
¨Finding your unique self to express your leadership means removing this mask

          Façade 
        Selective disclosure of hidden feelings, attitudes, goals and values can build relationships with others. If the façade is large, however, others can never really know you
          Unknown
     Being more expressive and flexible encourages the introduction of new ideas and enhances self-discovery. Without feedback, the unknown is likely to remain unknown. Feedback often provides illumination for both parties.
